In the workshops you can gain experience in stone with a very soft sand coloured chalk stone.

Not enough time?
You don’t have to do a whole course, you can just have 3 or 4 days in a 4 or 5 day course. Just let us know when you enrol for the course which day you would like to start. But: 4 or 5 days are much more comfortable than 3 days… (read about in ‚Thoughts‘).
As well as learning the technic of working on stone you will also experience your own creative process. The aim is to EXPRESS YOURSELF with the help of the stone. YOUR OWN CREATION is way better than any role model. Working on the stone helps you to break out of the social norms allowing the participant to discover themselves. “I always come out of a stone sculpting course with a clear mind. I am mentally relaxed.” I then understood what the saying: “The journey is the reward” means.
Peter Handke was spot on when he said “one does not have to be capable of doing art” One used to say creativity comes from doing. But creativity comes from going along with feelings, permitting. Art means: Just do what you think you can’t. I am not a believer in being childish but to a certain extent an artist is a child.
Most workshops take place in the “Steinbildhauer Werkstatt in Aschau in Chiemgau. The course leader Rudolf Söllner is present at all times.
The workshops are suitable for beginners as well as advanced.
There are also different sorts of marble available to work on….but please ask before you start working on anything!!
The workshops generally take place over a weekend and lasts 3, 4 or 5 days.
Times of stone work are 9 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 5 pm except on the last day of the course which is 9 am to 3 pm.

The use of tools and facilities are included in the course price.
The stone materials must be paid for separately:
